Supplies from the Irish Free State are now beginning to show a seasonal increase which remains, however, less marked than a year ago. With gradu- ally increasing production, supplies from Baltic countries are also coming forward in rather greater quantity, and fairly substantial shipments are ex- pected from Russia in the coming week. Prices continue on a lower level than a year ago, but the difference has become gradually smaller since the beginning of the year, New Zealand finest salted and Danish in April averaging about 13 per cent. and 11 per cent. less than in the same month last year respectively. Comparative prices, being the average of top quotations at London, are as follows:-
N.Z. Finest Salted Aust. Finest Salted Danish Irish
Recorded imports of butter from all sources into ports in Great Britain during last week amounted to 162,300 cwts., as compared with 186,100 cwts. in the preceding week. Shipments of Butter from New Zealand :-
